Energy system analysis of feasible options towards 100% renewable energy system in Germany
Validation and Reference scenario 2010
This chapter presents how the current energy system of Germany is simulated in EnergyPLAN. The aim is to create a reference system for Germany for the year of 2010 and compare the outputs from EnergyPLAN with the actual performance of the German energy system at that year. Main purpose is to identify if the simulation that has been developed to represent the German energy system is valid, in order to use it for simulating future energy systems. In order to create this reference system a number of inputs is necessary. These inputs include electricity, heat, transport and industry’s demands, plus several others such as power plant capacities, fuel distribution across the sectors and relative costs.
