Introduction

 

Considering the threat of Climate Change and its subsequent consequences, many countries have set future targets for reducing their greenhouse-gases. Energy Transition strategy is Germany’s response on this global challenge that involves effective transformations of the current German energy system, towards an energy efficient and mainly renewable-sourced one. The challenge that arises is to build the energy system on the basis of maximized flexibility that will be able to integrate  more intermittent renewable energy and comprise a cost-effective solution.
